It will be necessary to file a report "in person" on runaways and/or missing persons as these reports require a complainant`s signature. You may also add items or information to an existing police report. Reports filed electronically and reports called in by phone will be processed in the same manner. Once the report has been received for processing you will receive a phone call, during normal business hours, from the High Point Police Department verifying your request. The reporting of a false crime is illegal in the state of North Carolina under statute 14-225: False reports to law enforcement agencies or officers.
